Handcrafted by Alexandra Shaffer, Ceramist from Roberts Creek
Each of Alexandra’s mugs is a one-of-a-kind creation — slipcast, decorated, fired, glazed, refired and finished for decades of daily use.
To keep it simple all our sample are priced the same, any style any size. So you can simply choose how many you’d like, then either select them yourself in person or have us curate a set for you and ship them worldwide in one of our famous Alex Ceramics wooden crates.
These aren’t factory mugs. They’re tactile stories shaped from locally mixed stoneware slip and high fired to stand the test of time.
Stoneware is dishwasher-safe, food-safe, and unlike earthenware, made to be used, not just displayed.
About the Artist
Nestled in the artistic enclave of Roberts Creek, Alexandra Shaffer creates stoneware that brings the natural world to your fingertips.
Inspired by the rhythms of the coast — the shimmer of tidal pools, the textures of cedar bark, the calm weight of river stones — she transforms raw clay into functional works of art.
Each piece is designed to feel both grounding and alive, carrying subtle echoes of the forests and waters that surround her studio. Alexandra’s mugs and bowls aren’t just vessels; they’re small invitations to pause, breathe, and reconnect with the natural world.
Her work is part of the Shaffer Farms Creative Collective, and every mug bears her maker’s seal — a mark of craftsmanship and care.
